The Story Behind The Love And Learnings Logo
“Mommy can you hear me? My curiosity knew no bounds. It was a simple lesson of the lady bug that stood out against the green of growth with a splash of flamboyant red. It knew deep down that it could fly. I thought my wings could escape the danger that lurked in hidden places but I was small and tender. My wings were never strong enough to soar.”
These words were formed when I was inspired to answer the question “What would Eli tell his mom now?” I heard of the sad loss of his life during Suicide Awareness Month.
When embarking upon my first intuitive writing in many years, I didn’t know where it would lead and the significance the ladybug would have for me.
After publishing the reading this beautiful young man’s mom commented, “Heather, I am overwhelmed. I can't even come up with words that describe how that impacted my heart. So many scenes within this piece were lived out, very accurate depictions. So many of those words I have longed to hear. Thank you for taking the time to shape such a beautiful and personal piece. I am overwhelmed.”
Soon after I was out mowing on my lawn tractor and a ladybug alighted on my knee. Before it flew away again I heard the simple message, “Thank you.”
Ladybugs are harmless and non-threatening little creatures who are both cute and vibrantly colourful. They are synonymous with overcoming challenges and being resilient even under difficult conditions.
Throughout history, ladybugs are associated with divine guidance and protection and they are symbols of good luck and prosperity.
When considering the Love and Learnings logo, I wanted an accenting flower, preferably in yellow, that would embrace who I was and pop with vibrant colour.
It didn’t take long for me to settle on the dandelion. While some may consider it a weed it is also a prolific, hardy and nutritious bloom known for resilience and perseverance.
Many of us relate to the delight of blowing its possibility to the wind and making a wish on it.
My husband had once written me a poem declaring himself to be ‘only a dandelion’ but asking for my love all the same.
It is said the yellow flower represents the sun, the white puff ball represents the moon and the dispersing seeds represent the stars.
If all this wasn’t enough, I was sold when I read the dandelion symbolizes hope, strength, and transformational healing.
The circle in my logo speaks of a timeless cyclic movement; the eternal nature of life and the universe. The continuous loop represents the cycles of life, death, rebirth, and the idea that time is infinite.
