What is reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing. It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy.

Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki Ryoho, the most current form of Reiki, in 1922. However, people have practiced Reiki for about 2,500 years.

During a reiki treatment, the individual is clothed and encouraged to relax. It’s possible to experience sensations in the body such as heat, gentle pulsing, or tingling. Some people visualize things such as colors or memories although this doesn’t always happen.

What is the difference between a reading and a reiki treatment?

I work from home in Alberta, Canada, but can do readings on a person’s energy via distance reiki anywhere in the world. These are presented via the written word.

There is also an option to come to my clinic for a one-on-one reiki treatment.

What does a reading include?

The investment in a reading includes the actual meditation and writing of the ‘story.’

You will receive it as a word document and presented as a pdf file.

When will I receive my reading?

Every reading is done specifically for the client by me. I limit how many a day I do so that you receive the best of service and content.

Please allow 3-5 business days to receive your reading after the date you have requested.

If extenuating circumstances were to occur I would email immediately.

If you have a deadline, please email me and let me know as soon as possible.

What information do I need to provide?

I will need your name and email address so that we can communicate effectively.

There is also an option to leave me a brief message. This can be an intention or concern you have that you would like me to focus on, an event you are celebrating or any other background you think is relevant to you.

What is the length of a reading or treatment?

There is no definitive length to a reading or treatment. I write intuitively until the message is done. Generally, I find messages present from as few as 300 or as much as 1000 words.

Similarly, a treatment runs until the body decides it is done. I would expect this to take around an hour.

What if an energy says ‘No’?

Energy readings are always done respectfully. I follow a protocol of protecting the person or animal from my energy and, conversely theirs from me.

I always ask permission to connect with the energy. It rarely happens but sometimes the answer is ‘No.’ While it is possible to reframe the request and for it to become a ‘Yes’ instead, I would never force this.

If the answer is ‘No’ you can decide to wait a few days and try again or a full refund will be given.

What if I don’t like or agree with the reading?

It’s possible this could happen. Sometimes a reading raises an awareness that you haven’t considered before or it just doesn’t resonate.

Because of the nature of readings and that they are not possible to ‘take back’ after publishing and sharing, there are no refunds given.
